Synonyms: Eight-Arm polyethylene glycol-Chloride; Eight-Arm PEG-Chloride
8-Arm polyethylene glycol-Chloride (8-Arm PEG-Chloride) is a multiarm PEG derivative with chloride groups at each terminal of the eight arms connected to one hexaglycerol core. It is a white solid and soluble in most organic solvents and has good solubility in water. It needs to be frozen, thawed slowly before use, and filled with nitrogen after use. Eight arm polyethylene glycol derivatives have a variety of active groups and can be used to modify a variety of materials. The halide groups -chloride (Cl) is a very good leaving group for neucleophilic substitution reaction. It can easily react with alcohols, ethers, amines and esters to modify various organic molecules. It has many potential applications, including drug delivery, nanomaterials research, cell culture, cross-linking, labeling, imaging, hydrogel and other fields.
