Synonyms: Acetal-polyethylene glycol-NHS
Acetal-PEG-NHS molecular chain is connected with Acetal at one end and sulfhydryl group at the other end, which is a linear heterobifunctional PEG derivative. It is used to cross link two amine-containing materials, such as protein to an AFM probe with amine group, so that two proteins and antibodies cross link, amine containing nanoparticles cross link to the enzyme. To cross-link the protein to an aminated surface, acetal-PEG-NHS is first reacted with the surface, then the acid removes the acetal and regenerates the aldehyde, and then the aldehyde reacts with the amine group of the protein.
