Fmoc-NH-PEG-COOH is a linear heterobifunctional PEG reagent with an Fmoc-protected amine and a carboxylic acid. It is a useful cross-linking reagent with a PEG spacer. The carboxylic acid functional group at the end of the chain can be quickly and easily surface functionalized for the preparation of nanoparticles and micelles for targeted drug delivery. The protected amine can be regenerated under mild alkaline conditions. After the reaction, the Fmoc protective group is removed, and the two reactive end groups can react with different drug molecules, thus forming PEG connecting the two drug molecules. The product has good water solubility, biocompatibility and flexibility, and is increasingly used for the conjugation of antibody drugs.
