SS-PEG-SS can react with amine groups at both ends of the molecular chain, and is an homobifunctionally crosslinked PEG reagent. Aliphatic ester bonding is used between PEG and NHS esters. By reacting with drugs, it changes the dispersity and solubility of drug molecules in aqueous solutions. Also, it can create a spatial barrier around the drug, reduce the enzymatic hydrolysis of the drug, avoid the rapid elimination of kidney, metabolism, and allow the drug to be recognized by cells of the immune system. It should be kept in a dry environment at -20℃ and out of direct sunlight.
