The molecular chain end of mPEG-Succinimidyl hexanoate is succinimidyl hexanoate, which is a PEG derivative that reacts with amines. There is a stable non-degradable linker between the PEG polymer chain and the NHS ester. mPEG-Succinimidyl hexanoate reacts with the amino group of lysine at pH 7-8. The hydrolysis half-life of mPEG-Succinimidyl hexanoate is longer than that of mPEG-SCM and mPEG-SBA. Polyethylene glycolation increases solubility and stability and reduces the immunogenicity of peptides and proteins. It can be used to modify proteins, peptides and other materials. It also inhibits nonspecific binding of charged molecules to the modified surface.
