Synonyms: N3-PEG-NH2
Azide-PEG-amine contains primary Amine and Azide groups at both ends of the chain. Primary amines may react with carboxyl groups in the presence of activators such as EDC or DCC, or with activated esters (such as NHS esters) that form stable amide bonds. The azide group can react with alkynes, BCN, and DBCO through Click Chemistry to produce stable triazole-bonded amines. Azide may be used for molecular conjugation by click-chemistry, and amines may react with carboxylic acids or NHS esters. The product is usually provided in the form of TFA or HCl salts. Azido-PEG-amines are used in bioconjugation, drug delivery, PEG hydrogels, cross-linking agents, and surface functionalization.
