GA-PEG-GA is a linear polymer containing epoxy groups at both ends of the molecular chain, which is a type of PEG reagent. There is a C4 ester linkage between PEG and the carboxy COOH group. GA-PEG-GA can react with amino groups by peptide coupling agents, making it widely used in the surface modification of proteins, lipids and other small molecules. By reacting with drugs, it changes the dispersity and solubility of drug molecules in aqueous solutions. Also, it can create a spatial barrier around the drug, reduce the enzymatic hydrolysis of the drug, avoid the rapid elimination of kidney, metabolism, and allow the drug to be recognized by cells of the immune system.
