Hydroxyl-polyethylene glycol-Propionic acid (HO-PEG-Propionic acid) is a multifunctional polyethylene glycol with a hydroxyl at one end and a propionic acid group at the other end. It is usually a viscous liquid or solid powder, depending on the molecular weight. It can be stored for a long time at -20℃. It is soluble in most organic solvents and has good solubility with water. Under suitable conditions, hydroxyl (-OH) can react with NPC to form carbonate. Carboxyl group can easily form stable amide bond with amino group or ester bond with hydroxyl group. PEG can increase the solubility and stability of the drug, reducing the immunogenicity of peptides and proteins, and inhibit the non-specific binding of charged molecules on the modified surface.
