PEG Crosslinking Services

Polyethylene glycol derivatives with active functional groups are widely used as the gold standard in bioconjugation and nanomedicine to prolong blood circulation time and improve drug efficacy. Conjugation of PEG to proteins and peptides, oligonucleotides (DNA, small interfering RNA (siRNA), micro RNA (miRNA)), and nanoparticles is a well-established technique. Over the years, BOC Sciences has been committed to providing cross-linking services between various modified PEGs and biomolecules. Our experienced technicians can select the most suitable linker according to the type of biomolecule and PEG molecule to optimize the solubility, immunogenicity and biological functionality of the drug.
What is PEG Crosslinking?
The cross-linking reaction of PEG generally includes PEG, coupled drugs and/or linkers and other components. In the application of PEG, the end group plays a decisive role. PEGs with different end groups serve different purposes. Since the terminal group of PEG raw material is a hydroxyl group, which has the disadvantages of low biological activity, difficulty in stably combining with drugs, and narrow modification range. Therefore, in practical applications, other more reactive functional groups, such as amino groups, carboxyl groups, and aldehyde groups, are often introduced into the end groups to synthesize PEG derivatives. These functionalized groups are rich in chemical activity, for example, they can be combined with specific amino acids, and then can be cross-linked with various biomolecules and small molecule drugs.

BOC Sciences has launched a variety of popular PEG derivatives by using various conjugation strategies with key parameters of PEG structure and molecular weight (MW) to achieve good efficacy of PEG-conjugated drugs. We can select PEG compounds with branched chain structures, such as branched chain PEG, forked PEG and multi-arm PEG, etc., achieving multiple cross-linking possibilities and greatly increasing the drug loading capacity. Our PEG crosslinking strategy has been widely used in biomedical applications such as drug delivery, biosensing, imaging, and tissue engineering.
