DSPE-PEG-COOH is a linear heterobifunctional PEG reagent consisting of DSPE phospholipids and carboxylic acids at both ends of the molecular chain.DSPE is a highly hydrophobic 18 carbon phospholipid.DSPE-PEG-COOH can be easily incorporated into liposomes and other nanoparticles by the reaction of carboxylic acids and amines.It is a commonly used reactive phospholipid that binds antibodies, proteins, peptides, or other substrates to the surface of liposomes and other lipid PEG nanoparticles.DSPE-PEG-COOH is often used in targeted drug delivery with the lipid bilayer to improve drug solubility, the PEG to provide stealth property, extend circulation half-life and reduce non-specific protein binding or cell adhesion, and the acid group to bioconjugate targeting molecules including antibody, aptamer, protein, and peptide.
