The end of the mPEG-cRGD chain is cyclic peptide cRGD. Applications of RGD peptides include inhibition of apoptosis, angiogenesis and tumorigenesis. RGD peptides are used as coating surfaces for biomaterials to enhance drug delivery and imaging for disease diagnosis. mPEG-cRGD is an effective target material, which can be used as an anti-tumor drug carrier and effective targeted delivery. In addition, it can also be used for passive targeting of micelles and vesicles. Polyethylene glycolation can increase the solubility and stability of peptides and proteins and decrease their immunogenicity. mPEG-cRGD also inhibits the nonspecific binding of charged molecules to the modified surface.
