Methoxy polyethylene glycol-Norbornene (mPEG-Norbornene) is a functionalized PEG obtained by conjugating norbornene with methoxypolyethylene glycol through an amide bond. It is usually a white solid or viscous liquid and can be stored at -20℃ for a long time. Because of its special structure and the double bond, it causes significant ring tension and obvious reaction. mPEG-Norbornene is used to prepare hydrogels and other biocompatible materials by mercaptan reaction. These hydrogels are cross-linked by a light-mediated orthogonal reaction between multifunctional norbornene modified macromonomers and thiol-containing junctions. It can modify a variety of drugs, such as protein drugs, peptide compounds, organic small molecule drugs and so on.
