mPEG-SH is a white solid. It can exchange disulfide bonds with the internal sulfhydryl groups of the protein and then form new disulfide bonds. Through this exchange reaction, it can specifically bind to the protein and reduce the immunogenicity of the protein. In addition, the sulfhydryl group of mPEG-SH can bond with gold nanoparticles to form Au-S covalent bonds. In this way, mPEG can directly modify the gold surface to improve the water solubility and biocompatibility of the nanoparticles. mPEG-SH is widely used in the fields of peptide synthesis, polymer synthesis, organic synthesis, targeted drug application, sustained and controlled release of drugs, and nanomaterial modification. mPEG-SH needs to be sealed and kept away from light in a nitrogen environment at -20℃. This product is easy to absorb moisture, and its activity will decrease after absorbing moisture until it loses its activity completely.
