Both ends of the molecular chain of PCL-PEG-PCL are hydrophobic block polycaprolactone, which is an amphiphilic ABA triblock copolymer. Hydrophobic blocks terminate with hydroxyl groups. PCL-PEG-PCL is a biodegradable, biocompatible polyethylene glycolated copolymer of polyester chain segments. PCL has good biocompatibility, degradability and other properties. It does not cause toxic side effects to the human body and can therefore be used as a carrier material for different types of drugs. It can be used in the preparation of micelles or nanoparticles for drug encapsulation and delivery. The hydrolytic degradability of polyester blocks depends on the molecular weight and the spacer between the ester groups (lactide, glycoside, or caprolactone).
