Biotin-PEG-NHS has biotin and NHS esters at each end of the molecular chain and can be used to label proteins, antibodies, small molecules or surfaces by their available amine groups. NHS esters react quickly with primary amine groups at pH 7~9 to form stable amide bonds. Through this reaction, biotin can be quickly attached to the target molecule or material surface. Biotin can be easily detected by biotin/streptavidin binding assays and is widely used for molecular target detection. PEG linker between NHS and biotin offers better water solubility, flexible linker structure and enhanced stability.
