Synonyms: HO-PEG-Succinimidyl Carboxymethyl Ester
HO-PEG-SCM is a linear heterobifunctional PEG derivative with hydroxyl group and an activated NHS ester at both ends of the molecular chain. SCM stands for Succinimidyl Carboxymethyl Ester, which easily reacts with primary amines such as lysine. SCM has strong reactivity with primary amines and can form stable amide bonds. HO-PEG-SCM can be attached to different molecules or materials to extend the richness of different molecular combinations. PEG modification can form a spatial barrier around the drug, reduce enzymatic hydrolysis of the drug, avoid rapid elimination of kidney metabolism.
