Synonyms: Acrylate-PEG-NH-BOC
Ac-PEG-NH-BOC has two ends of the chain, an acrylate and an amine protected by BOC. It is a linear heterobifunctional PEG reagent and a useful cross-linker with a PEG spacer group. Acrylate polymerizes with ultraviolet or free radical initiators, and protected amines are regenerated under mildly acidic conditions. It can be attached to different molecules or materials to extend the richness of different molecular combinations. Ac-PEG-NH-BOC modification can form a spatial barrier around the drug, reduce enzymatic hydrolysis of the drug, avoid rapid elimination of kidney metabolism, and allow the drug to be recognized by immune system cells.
