OPSS-PEG-SCM is a linear heterobifunctional PEG reagent with OPSS group and NHS ester at both ends of the molecular chain. OPSS stands for o-pyridinyl disulfide or o-pyridinyl disulfide, which can react with thiol, SH, sulfhydryl to form a S-S bond. Through the pyridinyl disulfide functional group, OPSS-PEG-SCM can selectively react with the sulfhydryl group to form a stable disulfide bond and release a thiol pyridyl group at the same time. Through this reaction, It can modify biomolecules or other materials. SCM is an NHS ester, commonly known as succinimide carboxymethyl ester, which is highly reactive with primary amines and can form stable amide bonds.
