Synonyms: Methoxy-PEG-Alkyne; Methoxy polyethylene glycol-Alkyne
mPEG-Alkyne can be used to modify proteins, peptides and other materials containing sulfhydryl groups or small molecules. Alkynyl groups can react with copper-catalyzed azides in aqueous solutions. Polyethylene glycol is beneficial to increase solubility and stability of materials, reduce the immunogenicity of peptides and proteins, and what's more, it can also inhibit non-specific binding of charged molecules on modified surfaces. MPEG-Alkyne is usually used to modify protein drugs, peptide compounds, liposomes, organic small molecule drugs, PEG modified affinity ligands and cofactors, PEG modified carbohydrates, oligonucleotide PEGylation, biological materials PEGylation.
