NH2-PEG-(γ)PGA (amino-polyethylene glycol-poly-L-glutamic acid) is a linear amphiphilic block copolymer with poly-L-glutamate as hydrophobic part and amino group functionalized PEG as hydrophilic part. NH2-PEG-(γ)PGA is one of the most commonly used biodegradable polymers. The amino group on the PEG chain can react with carboxyl group, and NH2-PEG-(γ)PGA can be used to prepare new targeted products such as micelles or vesicles. The active group at the end of the product can be linked with some modified peptides, proteins, sugars, folic acid or antibodies to become active targeting materials. It is a solid or semisolid which depends on its molecular weight. The bigger the molecular weight, the more likely it is to be a solid.
