PLGA-PEG-COOH consists of hydrophilic block polyethylene glycol (PEG) and hydrophobic block poly-lactide - glycol copolymer (PLGA). It is an amphiphilic AB diblock copolymer. PLGA-PEG-COOH has a carboxylic acid group at the PEG end, which can be used to prepare and control drug release of target nanoparticles (micelles) for separation. PLGA-PEG-COOH can be used to prepare core and shell nanoparticles with amine reactive maleimides, or can be conjugated with peptides or proteins containing free amines. Polyethylene glycolated copolymers with biodegradable and biocompatible polyester chain segments can be used to prepare core-shell micelles, nanoparticles and microspheres.
