Y-shape-PEG-NH2 is a high quality multi-arm PEG derivative with two linear methoxy polyethylene glycol and one primary amine substituted linear polyethylene glycol. Primary amines react quickly with activated carboxylic groups such as NHS esters to form stable amide bonds that are attached to the matrix. The amine groups of Y-shaped PEG amines are more reactive to acylating agents than the hydroxyl groups and are prone to reducing amination reactions. Because of its large spatial structure, Y-type PEG is more selective than linear PEG. Polyethylene glycol arms have hydrophilic and other excellent physical and chemical properties. For example, PEG chains can inhibit nonspecific binding of charged molecules to modified surfaces.
