Synonyms: Four-Arm polyethylene glycol succinimidyl glutaramide ester; Four-Arm polyethylene glycol-GAS; Four-Arm PEG-GAS
Four-Arm polyethylene glycol succinimidyl glutaramide ester (4-Arm PEG-GAS) is a multiarm PEG derivative with succinimidyl NHS ester groups at each terminal of the four arms connected to one pentaerythritol core. It's a white solid or viscous liquid whose morphology depends on its molecular weight. The smaller the molecular weight, the more likely it is to be a solid. It is soluble in most organic solvents and easily soluble in water. PEG-GAS is one type of PEG-NHS reagents. There is a C3 hydrocarbon amide linkage between PEG and the NHS ester. Four arm polyethylene glycol derivatives have a variety of active groups that can be used to modify proteins, peptides and other materials through their functional groups.
